Stanbic Uganda Cup champions BUL FC could not make it beyond the first preliminary round of the 2022/23 CAF Confederation Cup qualifiers.
BUL who were appearing on the continent for the first time were eliminated by Egyptian side Future FC thanks to a great goal from Cameroon’s Jonathan Ngwem.
Following a barren draw in the first leg at Kitende last week, the oil manufacturers were edged 1-0 in Cairo on Saturday, Future progressed 1-0 on aggregate.
The visitors played the largest part of the game with a man less after Walter Ochora was sent off in the 20th minute for a second bookable offense.
Alex Isabirye’s charges were resilient until the 76th minute when they conceded from Cameroonian Jonathan Ngwem’s well-taken freekick.
In the next round of the qualifiers, Future will take on Kallon FC from Sierra Leone.
Kallon ejected Benin side Buffles du Borgou FC 4-0 on aggregate in the preliminary round.
When Kallon visited Buffles du Borgou a week ago, they won 1-0 before a 3-0 victory at home on Saturday.
