Ajara Nchout Njoya, will be Cameroon’s only hopes for an individual award, during the CAF Awards Gala on Thursday, 21 July 2022, in Rabat, Morocco.
The Confederation of African Football CAF, has made known a final shortlist of three players per category, with the Inter Milan forward making it to the final third in the CAF women’s player of the year Category.
The in_form forward whose goal against Botswana secured Cameroon a place in the inter_Continental world cup qualifiers playoffs, will battle it out against Asisat Oshoala of Nigeria and Barcelona, and Zambia and BIIK Kazygurt’s Grace Chanda.
In the men’s Player of the year Category, Cameroon’s duo Vincent Aboubakar and Karl Toko Ekambi, who had been preselected in the 10 nominees, have failed to make the top three.

Senegalese duo Edward Mendy and Sadio Mane, will battle for the accolade, against Egypt and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.
Cameroon, who finished third in the 2021 TotalEnergies AFCON on home soil, will still be hopeful in the men’s National team of the year Category, but it’s going to be a hard nut going up against AFCON finalist Egypt and winners, Senegal.
