Two goals on either half of the game saw Buea United FC defeats Istanbul FA by 4 goals to 0 in a friendly encounter played at the Buea Omnisport Stadium.
With the Regional League on a recess, such an encounter will help the Buea United side prepare for when the League resumes. For Istanbul FA, they are using these friendly games to prepare for the start of the Divisional League.
The Istanbul FA defence was very capable of most of the goals scored, as they could have been avoided should they had been on their game. With the game being friendly the lacklustre defence of the side could be excused but that won’t be the case when the Divisional League starts as most teams will take advantage of it.
“I told my boys to work hard and that they should know that it is a game that needs time and they have to forget about the mistakes they make because it is inevitable,” Coach Agbor Emmanuel aka Alabas told kick442.com as he put out a very young squad against Instabul FA.
“With Buea United, we have one of the youngest team and we deiced to give the players enough game time so they can develop quickly. For now, we are not making any promises but we are happy that our boys are picking up fast.”
Istanbul FA has had a series of friendly encounters to prepare for the eventual start of the Divisional League. The team has the ambition of playing in the Regional League next football season, an ambition that could have been made possible this year if the season hadn’t been cancelled.
To coach Ache Ebenezar of Istanbul FA, the defeat by Buea United can be put down on the fact that since December 14 the boys had been on a break and they have not had effective training.
“We expected to begin training on January 12 to be ready for the start of the Divisional League. Istanbul FA has the ambition of making it to the regional League and we will see what next from there,” Coach Ache Ebenezar of Istanbul FA said.
It should be recalled that Buea United defeated the University of Buea FC on matchday one. When the leagues resume, the side will face Dynamic FC of Buea on matchday two.
