Cameroon-eligible forward Bryan Mbeumo had an amazing game this Saturday in match-day 11 of the English Championship at home to Reading FC.
Mbeumo scored twice in a near-perfect first-half in which Brentford led by three goals to nil by the break.
Mathias Jensen started the demolition exercise as early as the 11th minute when he benefitted from an assist from S. Canos to make it one-nil for Brentford.
Mbeumo doubled that lead in the 23rd minute and made it 3-0 for Brentford eight minutes later as Reading’s backline looked to be all over the place.
Brentford went into the break leading by three goals to nil and looking like the more dangerous side.
However, Reading seemed to have had a good team talk at the break and upon resumption they did better.
The visitors pulled one back through Nigerian forward Sammy Aluko 17 minutes into the second segment.
Unfortunately, their comeback wasn’t to be as Brentford organized at the back and protected the two-goal cushion till full-time.
The game ended on a 3-1 score for Mbeumo’s side who picked up their ninth victory in 20 games this season.
Brentford are ranked 4th so far with 35 points to their credit in a season in which much is expected from the squad that somehow missed promotion last season.
They face Newcastle in the English Football League Cup next Wednesday on home soil.
21-year-old Mbeumo has scored thrice and assisted five goals in 20 league appearances in the second tier championship this season.
