Cameroon and Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo has tested positive for Covid-19, forcing him out if his Club’s Championship game against Fulham this weekend, kick442.com can report.
Manager Frank Thomas confirmed this Saturday that, the player had returned a positive results for the virus though he is not showing symptoms.
“He has no symptoms, he’s healthy, but unfortunately you have to isolate yourself and stay in a safe environment,” coach Thomas Frank explained.
Bryan becomes the first Brentford player to test positive for the virus. Coach Frank has revealed they elected not to inform the player on the situation.
“That’s a confirmed test for Bryan. The only reason we didn’t want to tell everybody was that he was most likely to start today if he was negative,” the gaffer further stated.
The 20-year-old potential Indomitable Lion with a French passport has enjoyed an impressive first season in English football following his arrival last August. He has scored 15 goals 7 assists in 38 games for the Club.
Bryan has taken to Twitter to send across a message of encouragement to his mates just before the Fulham game.
The erstwhile Es Troyes winger has represented France at Under-17, 20 and 21 categories, but remains eligible to represent Cameroon at senior international level through his parents.
