Brice Owona in talks with Tanzanian outfit

Former Eding Sport de la Lekie and APEJES of Mfou forward Brice Owona Ngah is heavily linked with a move to Tanzanian outfit, Young Africa Sports Club, can report.

According to African Sports Today, the 31-year-old striker is in advanced negotiations with officials of the Dar ES Salaam giants.

Reports say the 22 times champions of Tanzania noted for signing great players in the past like 2004 UEFA Champions League finalist Shabani Nonda have identified the Yaoundé-native as a required addition in their frontline.

Owona started his career as a youth team trainee at AS Fortuna in 2002 before been scouted by Cotonsport of Garoua in 2005.
The former UMS of Loum forward spent four years, scored 19 goals for the club. He was a part of the Cotonsport side that lost 4-2 on aggregate to Al Ahly in the 2008 CAF Champions League Final.

The 2010 champion of Cameroon with Cotonsport and erstwhile St Gallen of Switzerland striker is a free agent.

As a former international at Under-20 category for Cameroon, the one-time Ittihad Tanger goal-getter provides just the kind of experience any ambitious club needs going forward.

Yanga are currently third on the log in the Tanzania Premier League expected to resume this month, and the club has a realistic chance of representing the East African nation in next season’s CAF inter-club competitions.

The need for new but experienced players with CAF Champions League appearances for Cotonsport, Union Sportive of Douala, Eding Sport de la Lekie, UMS of Loum is inevitable.
