Brice Fidele Ambina has been named Cape Town City’s Player of the Year for 2021-22 season.
The young Cameroonian midfielder has looked unstoppable under Eric Tinkler, making 12 appearances for Cape Town City in just three months at the club.
“Cape Town City 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 goes to Brice Ambina!
The Cameroonian midfielder joined the club in January and produced a series of scintillating performances in a breath-taking 2022. Here’s to many more,” the club revealed.
The Blues had a phenomenal season in the DSTV Premiership likely to finish second and qualify for the CAF Champions League thanks to the input of the 20-year old. With Two games remaining for 5th place Royal AM in the DSTV Premiership, Cape Town City will look forward to secure a top-two finish in the championship in which they are three points off the fourth ranked team.
Ambina who arrived in February hasn’t scored or assist for the club, but his contribution in the midfield for the Blue and Gold has been far more than scoring goals.
Fidèle Brice Ambina is an international for Cameroon’s under-20 men’s team thus explaining why he has quickly settled into the life abroad, few months after joining City from Cameroon’s Renaissance FC of Ngoumou.
Ambina is highly-rated back home and City could end up being a transit club for the boy gifted with amazing football knowledge.
