PWD Social Football Club of Bamenda, has parted ways with head coach David Pagou.
The Abakwa Boys have this Monday announced that they are ending three years working relationship with the tactician following the expiration of his contract.
“End of an era, time for a new challenge. Thank you Coach David Pagou for services rendered to our club PWD Bamenda. Wish you all the best,” president Pascal Abunde wrote on Twitter.
“PWD Social Football Club of Bamenda has ended it’s working relationship with coach David Pagou, on mutual consent, following the expiration of his contract,” read a club statement.
“David Pagou helped to write a beautiful page in our history and it’s with regret that we have reached this difficult decision.”
“David Pagou joined the Abakwa Boys in September 2019, and leave after winning the Elite one championship and the Cameroon cup.
“We wish him the best of luck in his professional career. Once an Abakwa Boy, always an Abakwa Boy💙🤍,” the club added.
On his part, David Pagou took to his Facebook page and wrote “Bamenda thanks,” as he says goodbye to a city that has been his home for the pass three seasons.
David Pagou, a native of Kaele in the Far North Region of Cameroon, joined PWD on September 17, 2019, signing a one_year contract.
He extended his contract for another one_year deal shortly after helping the Abakwa Boys to winning their first league title in the 2019_2020 season, and extended for another one season, in his sides run up to winning the Cameroon cup trophy.
During his last season with the club, the Abakwa Boys finished third in Pool B of the Elite one championship, missing out on a place in the playoffs and we’re surprisingly butted out of the Cameroon cup in the 32nd final by third tier side AS Real of Bertoua.
During his three years stay with the Blue and white of Bamenda, Pagou took charge of 79 competitive games, winning 36, 24 draws and 19 defeats.
He leaves as the most successful coach in the history of the club that was founded in 1962, as he won both the league and the Cameroon cup trophies with the club.
Kick442.com understands that the Abakwa Boys have been in search for a new coach to lead the post_Pagou era. Astres of Douala’s Anicet Mbarga Foe and Former FOVU of Baham’s lead trainer Olivier Nankam, are amongst the names that have been linked for the top job.
