Ismaily SC sources have announced the capture of Guinea Bissau star Piqueti Djassi Brito Silva,26 on a 3 year deal from Saudi club Al-Shoulla FC.
The former Braga and Maritimo forward is believed to have impressed officials of the Egyptian club during the 2019 AFCON tournament in Egypt.
Guinea played 3 games of the tournament in Ismaila the home city of the forward’s new club. In those 3 games Piqueti performed well in most of the 3 games. In the second Group game against Benin he was named the Man of the Match.
“A club statement read;”The technical committee gave the okay to the Board of Directors to bring in the winger following his performance in the AFCON in Egypt.”
Piqueti in his second AFCON tournament was the main threat of the Guinea side in Egypt but unfortunately the Djurtus were eliminated in the round of 16.
He leaves Saudi Arabia 6 months after his arrival in January 2019.
Besides the above mentioned clubs the former Portugal Under 20 International has played for different Portuguese clubs amongst which is Ghal Vicente and Coimbra.
He made 15 appearances for the Portugal’s Under 20 national team with whom he scored 3 goals before pledging allegiance to the senior team of Guinea in 2015.
He made his international debut for Guinea Bissau on the 13th of October 2015 and has since then played 18 games and scored 3 goals for the Djurtus including appearing at 2017 AFCON in Gabon where he scored wonderful solo goal against Cameroon before featuring at his second AFCON tournament in 2019 Egypt.
Ismaily SC under the guidance of Chairman Ibrahim Othman qualified for the group stage of the 2019 CAF Champions League but had a disappointing domestic season. The club finished 7th in the just ended 18 clubs Egyptian Premier League.
Adding Piquetti is a huge boast for the club going forward.
