The President of the Confederation of African(CAF) Ahmad Ahmad has been released.President Ahmed released by French Judicial Authorities who took him earlier today at a hotel in Paris, France for questioning.
The CAF boss is said to have been in the company of the authorities to respond to questions from the officials who were keen on getting particular details about some contracts in his time as CAF boss.
According to reports from @jeune_afrique earlier today, the CAF president was arrested this morning at a hotel in Paris, where he was staying to attend the FIFA Congress,but kick442.com understands he has now regained his freedom.
It’s unclear why the 59-year old Magdagalsy was taken away,no official communication has been made by the parties involved.
Though details around his arrest remain sketchy, some section of the media reported today that Mr Ahmad was taken for questioning in connection with a “contract unilaterally broken by CAF with the German Football equipment manufacturer Puma to engage with the company Technical Steel, based in La Seyne-sur-Mer.”
Reports have it that Ahmad signed off on a deal, which benefitted the company Technical Steel, with one of the company’s top employees said paying to the tune of €739 000 to the CAF president in order to get the deal signed.
