The golden eaglets of Nigeria became the first African team to book a spot at Brazil 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup with their second straight win at the ongoing CAF U17 AFCON taking place in Tanzania.
After winning their first game by 5-4 victory over Host Tanzania, Nigeria went into the game knowing fully well that a win will seal qualification for the world cup as well as qualification for the semi final of CAF U17 AFCON.
The team didn’t disappoint as Golden Eaglets dominated the game, Angola were also decent in the attack. In the 13th minute, Wisdom free-kick goes inches wide, Angola Goal Keeper also denied a one-on-one situation. Also in the 13th minute there was a

In the 18th minute,
Wisdom shoot wide inside Angola box.
Two (2) minutes later, Nigeria wins Penalty kick and Kunle Segun put Eaglets in front from the spot in the 21st minute.
Three (3) minutes later, Golden Eaglets Goal Keeper, Sunday Stephen made another brilliant save. In the 42nd minute, Tanko hit the upright from close range which could have been the second goal.
HALF TIME: Nigeria 1-0 Angola
As the second half of the game commenced, Angola were down to ten (10) men when in the 52nd minute Gege was sent off for second bookable offence. A Free kick was awarded to the Eaglets, Wisdom effort from range goes inches wide.
In spite the red card, Angola tried to get a late Equaliser but Nigeria’s goal keeper was brilliant and up to their tasks but the Golden Eaglets missed some chances to have extended the lead over the Angolan side.
With this result, NIGERIA apart from qualifying for the world cup have also qualified to play in the semi final of the 2019 U17 AFCON. The team will play an inconsequential final Group game against Uganda on Saturday.
