The mayor of Lusaka Miles Sampa has made public plans to name one of the streets in Lusaka after Zambia’s celebrated soccer icon Kalusha Bwalya.
The Lusaka City mayor has also disclosed plans to erect Kalusha Bwalya’s statue at one of the roundabouts in Lusaka, Zambia.
The plans according to the Mayor are expected to be actualized in the next three months.
“… Lets celebrate Kalu while he is alive. On my part as Lusaka Mayor, I will name a road as Kalusha Bwalya in the next 3 months. I will also put his monument atone of the Roundabouts in Lusaka before year end,” Mayor Sampa writes.
Miles Sampa was elected mayor of Lusaka in August 2018.
Kalusha Bwalya on his part is a former Zambian international footballer. He is the 8th most capped player and 3rd all time top goal scorer of the Zambian national team.
