40 year old former Ghanaian national team forward Manuel “Junior” Agogo has been reported dead in London according to reports from the Ghanaian media.
The forward suffered a stroke in 2015 while he had already retired from playing.
Agogo played his Club football in England, the USA, Scotland,Egypt and Cyprus, notably for Sheffield Wednesday, Queens Park Rangers, Nottingham Forest, Colorado Rapids, Zamalek, Apollon Limassol and Hibernian.
He played 350 league games scoring 113 goals for 15 clubs across five countries and three continents.
He was Ghana’s main striker in the 2008 AFCON.
He won 27 caps for the Black Stars, scoring 12.
It’s a sad day for football lovers across the world and particularly to his family and the entire Ghanaian and African football family.
