YOSA of Bamenda head coach for the past three seasons, Martin Nkabyo has confirmed the end kf his reign as manager of the 2013 cup of Cameroon winners.
The news of Nkabyo’s departure was delivered on the kick442.com forum this Friday following a run of poor results, provoked by injuries and players unavailability that soured the legacy that the Under-15 Lions deputy coach had built over the years.
“It’s been three football seasons of some exciting, memorable moments with three different groups of young, talented footballers from around the country…I’ve enjoyed working with these young men and it’s been a very enriching experience…But like every sweet story, it has to come to an end someday…. I think it’s time for these young men to listen to some other voice, learn some new things, enrich their career and experience with new tactical ideas…”
I’ve decided to step down from my functions as the Head Trainer of YOSA because I think it’s important for the Club to forge ahead, I think it’s important for these young lads to enjoy a more exciting end of the season…
It’s not an easy moment for them but I know they’ll come through…
It’s also in their interest that I’m taking this decision…” Nkabyo revealed in an emotional message barely 24 hours after his side deprived of nine first team players lost to Union Sportive of Douala in their latest Elite one fixture.
The former National Polytecnic and PWD of Bamenda trainer further thanked the management of YOSA for the confidence and wished them luck going forward.
“A big thank you to the Management of YOSA for their confidence during these three football seasons and plenty of respect and appreciation to the supporters and well wishes of YONG Sports Academy..”
YOSA who are eighth on the log have lost six of their 17 games this season and boast of 23 points going into their next game against fellow strugglers Panthere of Nde this Sunday.
In Nkabyo’s three years at YOSA the one time Tiko United FC trainer achieved a top of the table finish on two occasions and left the club in a mid table position with nine games left this season.
