Union Sportive of Douala have named Brazilian striker Alif Firmino in their squad for the first time since he joined the club in the beginning this season.
Firmino joined the club in the build-up to this season but have struggled to get a place in the vibrant frontline of coach Pogne Love’s team. Pogne Love masterminded the arrival of the player to Cameroon having worked in Brazil and have the Brazilian Nationality though a Cameroonian by birth.
Firmino is in competition with the likes of Nlend Samuel and Cyrille Tchayi for a place in the starting XI.
Tchayi and Nlend have 5 goals between them this season and both of them have scored a goal each in USD last two home games.
Should the Brazilian get his chance on the pitch this season then he will be the first South American player to appear in Cameroon League one championship this season and the first foreign player to play for USD this season.
USD tackle New Stars of Douala in an ever hotly contested Littoral derby in Limbe this Sunday.
