The president of the Bamenda preseason solidarity tournament, Nji Nelson Chefor has expressed his satisfaction after day one matches of the tournament went on unperturbed. He said the days ahead for the tournament seems to be promising due to the massive turnout of the population to watch football in Bamenda after a long while.
” it was satisfactory. The population watched good football thanks to the spectacle put in by the teams. We saw regional league teams pushing our Elite Clubs to their limit. The days ahead will be more engaging and promising”, said Nji Nelson Chefor, President of the Organizing Committee of the football jamboree.
On his part, the Secretary-General of FECAFOOT North West, Ndi Tsembom Elvis applauded the population and most especially football lovers who despite the scorching sun, they field was to full.
“I am very happy on day one activities with regional league teams like Bafmeng United withstanding YOSA’s playing style and at the end winning them. Am happy with the turnout but sad because of no stadium as football fans stand still under the hot sun for both games. We are looking at the lapses so that next year, we will improve on them”, said Elvis.
The lamentation of the Secretary-General of FECAFOOT North West about the lack of a stadium in the North West region is on the lips of all football stakeholders and lovers of the game. Speculations are high that the Eto’o led FECAFOOT team will weep the tears of the region.
