Talks are ongoing between stakeholders in view of a resumption of the Moroccan domestic championship, the Botola Pro.
Reports emerging from deliberations of Tuesday, June 23 have it that, the country’s Sports and Culture Minister Othman El Ferdaous has told the media that the domestic championship will resume between the last week of July and the first week of August 2020.
The minister has told Clubs in an outing on local media that they are free to resume training from next week.
The Executive Committee of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation and that of the national football league will met on Tuesday afternoon to shed more light on the way forward.
The Moroccan top-flight and the second tier Championships have been off since March this year when the CoronaVirus pandemic surfaced across the continent.
Before the outbreak of the pandemic, 20 of 30 rounds of the championship had been observed for some Clubs.
Before the suspension, Wydad Casablanca were leading with 36 points from 18 games.
The long wait for the return of the Botola Pro and Botola 2 is nearly over.
