One of the best left-back in the Cameroon Elite One championship during the 2018 season Ngong Bong Lionel is heavily linked with a return to Cameroon Elite One side YOSA of Bamenda barely two years after he left.
The 24-year-old defender missed all of last season of the championship as he was away in South Africa in search of greener pastures.
Information confirmed by related parties have it that, there are fruitful negotiations for the return of the ex-Union Sportive of Douala and CINYODEV of Buea defender to Bamenda.
Bong, the only YOSA player in the Cameroon top-flight Championship team of the 2018 season went as far as having a call-up to the senior national selection in March 2018, thanks to coach Alexandre Belinga.
Should the deal happen then coach Martin Nkabyo will have the luxury of two good left-backs next term. 19-year-old Bahaza Go-ah who was a joy to watch last season in the same position.
The Cameroon transfer window opened this month and is expected to stay so for 12 weeks.
In the meantime, the Championship proper is scheduled to resume between late September and early October 2020.
YOSA resume practice for the upcoming season this Thursday, August 20, in strict respect of the Covid-19 prevention measures.
The return of Bong will see him reunite with Thierry Ngalle, one of the rare survivors of his generation at the Club.
