Nigeria’s track Queen Blessing Okagbare continued her progress in this season’s Diamond League Open as she clocked a new 200m SB of 22.58s to place 3rd, at the IAAF World Challenge in Nanjing.

The feat means she has now qualified for the World Champs & Tokyo Olympics, in both the 100m and 200m.

At the 2019 IAAF Shanghai Diamond League meeting, Blessing Okagbare did a personal season best of 11:07 secs in the Women’s 100m finishing second and becoming the 6th Nigerian athlete to achieve to qualify for the World Champs.

Okagbare had opened her season with a 3rd place finish clocking a Nigerian 200m lead of 23.14s and has then been progressing in both the 100m and 200m races fine fashion.

The next diamond league meeting will be at the BAUHAUS-galan Stockholm Olympic Stadium Stockholm in Sweden on 30th May.
