Ghanaian international Bernard Mensah has warned the young footballers who have the desire to travel abroad to be wary of some of the football agents.

The FA Cup committee chairman Mr. Wilson Arthur had revealed that most of the Ghanaian young footballers who travel abroad become stranded on the streets of some of the countries.

Reacting to this on Akoma FM in Kumasi, Bernard Mensah said, most of the agents are only interested in their financial gains but not the welfare of the players.

“Some of the agents are only interested in the money but not the player’s welfare. To know a genuine agent, you have to make sure he is able to sorts out your demands but the fake one will try to brush aside whatever you demand. So you are the footballer has to be bold and ask questions but here in Ghana, when a young person begins to ask questions, they will brand you as disrespectful but it’s not the same as in Europe.

Therefore the parents have to come in and know the agents but due to poverty as soon as someone comes that he wants to travel abroad, we quickly allow them to go.
