Cameroon international Didier Lamkel Ze and Martin Hlonga of Royal Antwerp have won the 2019-2020 Belgian Cup by beating League Champions Club Brugge in a tight contest final this Saturday evening.

Antwerp came into the fixture as underdogs but somehow had enough in their sleeves to outsmart the current league champions.

A 25th minute strike from Lior Refaelov gave a one-nil lead to Royal Antwerp.

Didier Lamkel Ze who started on the night alongside Martin Hlonga had a pivotal role in the build-up to the goal.

The Cameroon duo Martin Hlonga and Didier Lamkel Ze played to instructions.

To an extent Lamkel Ze last full duration as he was substituted in the 90th minute while Martin Hlonga was present till the end of eight minutes of additional time.

Antwerp’s early goal was sufficient for a win as they defended properly till full time.

The game ended one-nil and Antwerp won their third Belgian Cup in history while Brugge will have to settle for the league crown as their only trophy for the season.

Another Cameroonian, Franck Boya missed his side’s title success for reasons not yet available to the media.
