After back-to-back 5-2 defeats to Crystal Stars and Heartland Queens at the ongoing 2022 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Championship Beautiful Tours Angels captain, Chikwai Ifunanyachukwu says the team will work on their defensive lapses ahead of their next game against Dannaz FC Ladies on Thursday.
“I was not that happy but I thank God for everything. We shall try to do well in our next match. We trust that with God, all things are possible. We have conceded ten goals in two games. In our next match, we will correct that.”
Coach of Beautiful Tours Angels, Emmanuel Edet on his side is optimistic that his team will not lose all their games.
He said: “We need to work hard because the foundation of the team has been destroyed from the team appearance. There is still a way. After the rest day, we will see if some players on injury will be able to recover. One thing that I can assure you is that the team will not lose all its games and I have the confidence of winning a match.
“At half time, I discovered that our opponents had good centre midfielders. My plan was for my team to attack from the wings. After the instructions, I believe my players were not too strong to carry out the instructions. I have just one player that I relied on who scored the second goal. The instructions were for the ball to be sent to the player because she has the speed which she can make use of to score.” He concluded.
Beautiful Tours Angels FC have conceded ten goals in two games and scored four in the process to hold the worst defensive record at the 2022 NWFL Championship.
