German Giant, Bayern Munich has fined Kingsley Coman for arriving to training this week in a McLaren 570S Spider.
The player was fined €50,000 by the club for coming in a car that is not the brand car sponsor of the club.
It is mandatory that Bayern players drive cars from the Volkswagen Group to training sessions, matches, and official club events according to international reporter, Zach Lowy.
They are allowed to use non-Volkswagen cars in their free time.
Coman is the latest Bayern player to be fined for driving a prohibited car, after Jérôme Boateng, Niklas Süle and Philippe Coutinho.
The player said that he was driving a McLaren because his Audi’s rearview mirror was cracked.
The club has stated that Coman will visit the Audi plant in Ingolstadt as soon as possible and sign autographs with the employees to serve as punishment.
Audi have been Bayern’s sponsors since 2002 and will remain sponsors until 2029 at least, with the German car manufacturer holding a 8.33% stake in the club.
