Cameroon duo of Bawou Ange Gabrielle and Touta Evanick of Bayelsa Queens says hard work and team cohesion are responsible for their side’s impressive form at the ongoing 2022 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership Super Six in Benin City.
“I am very happy to be victorious with my teammates at Bayelsa Queens. The Nigerian Championship is more physical compared to ours in Cameroon but we keep working. My dream is to go as far as possible.” Touta Evanick told www.kick442.com at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City, Edo State.
Fellow Cameroonian and national team goalkeeper, Bawou Ange Gabrielle echoed Touta Evanick’s thought on the physicality of the NWFL.
She said: “Bayelsa Queens’ impressive form is the result of hard work and prayers. It is more physical here in the Nigeria Women Football League. Back at home in Cameroon, it is physical and tactical. When we are born Champions and work hard, anywhere we go that grace follows.”

Bawou Ange Gabrielle joined Bayelsa Queens from former Cameroon Champions, Louves Minproff.
Touta Evanick also arrived at Bayelsa Queens from Louves Minproff as was part of the Indomitable Lionesses squad at the maiden Aisha Buhari Cup last year.
Bayelsa Queens after four-game put itself in pole position to win the NWFL Premiership title with a maximum of 12 points.
The league title guarantees a spot for the Champions at the zonal Qualifiers of the second edition of TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League.
