Barcelona’s teenage sensation, Ansu Fati is reported to have informed the Spanish Federation he wants to play for Spain according to Barcelona FI tweeter handle.
Fati was born in Guinea Bissau but later moved to Herrera, Spain at the age of 6.
The Royal Spanish football Association, RFEF is working on the procedure to provide Fati a Spanish password for 3 months now.
This implies that Fati could represent Spain at the Under 17 FIFA World Cup in Brazil this year.
He is also eligible to play for both Guinea Bissau and Portugal at the international level.
Fati joined La Masia academy in 2012 and scored his first professional goal in August 2019 against Osasuna.
He has been on target twice in three outings for FC Barcelona.
Ansu Fati became the 10th youngest player to feature in the UEFA champions league on Tuesday as Barcelona held Dortmund to a goalless draw in Germany.
