Swedish Club, Djurgarden have signed Banyana Banyana midfielder Stephanie Malherb to reinforce it’s squad at the Swidish Damallsvenskan League following her completion of business studies at the University of Houston.
The midfielder joined from Texas A&M where spent over 4 years with the U.S based club (2014-2017)
Malherb is due to make her debut for the two time Swedish champions at Stockholm, capital of Sweden on Saturday,March 30th in an international women friendly against AIK.
The 2005 runner-up of the UEFA women champions league begin the Swedish Damallsvenskan women league on the 14th of April away to Pitea.
The 16year old club is hoping for a spot at the women’s champions league final after a foiled attempt in 2005.
The 22 year old American born has committed her international future with South Africa and has since featured for the Banyana Banyana of South Africa 8 times despite not scoring a goal yet.
She made her international debut for South Africa against the Indomitable lionesses of Cameroon in March 2016.
Malherb was part of South Africa’s female football selection that took part at the Rio Summer Olympic games in 2016.
