Newly promoted Elite Two side Rangers FC of Bafut have bagged home the trophy of the maiden edition of the Bamenda pre-season Solidarity Tournament beating regional championship side Rainbow FC of Bamenda 3#0.
Ndiforchu Blaise opened the scoresheet barely five minutes into the game, frustrating the hopes of coach Nchinda Emmanuel and boys to clinch the title.
An eyes breaker it served for Rainbow FC who mounted pressure, playing forefront, enjoying much game time in Rangers’ 18m box, but goals became very difficult to come by.
Regaining possession, Rangers FC of Bafut won a corner kick from the right flank of field, a beautiful one sent upfront Njibero Durell netted the second goal for Rangers FC, changing the scoreboard to 2#0. Not for long Ndiforchu Blaise picked up a loose ball went pass goalkeeper Tem Chambi Brandon, netting a Brace to make it 3#0, ending the first segment of the battle.
Leading 3#0, Rangers FC of Bafut played satisfactorily with their results, spending most of the game time in the median of the field.
Desperate to score goals and level scores, Rainbow FC of Bamenda put a good fight headed forward, sent in direct and indirect strikes, coupled with headers from all angers but their efforts were easily compromised.
