Iris Menju Anduochi has been crowned as the best athlete in the just ended first edition of the Bamenda II Council Outdoor Sports Competition.

The 13-year-old won two gold medals and a trophy in swimming making her the most decorated athlete of the three days competition.

Speaking to shortly after the competition, Iris Menju Anduochi said her success was thanks to her training schedule and her flexibility with the swimming styles.

“I am so very happy with this crown. I have actually been training for a long time now, for about a year and I’m so happy I have accomplished this mission”, the young and talented Iris Menju said.

She plans to have a good career in swimming.
“I also plan on being an international athlete in future and also a trainer to swimmers”, Iris told

Iris Menju Anduochi won gold in free style and back stroll. Reacting to the trophies and prizes, she expressed her gratitude to the Bamenda II Council and the mayor, Chenwi Peter, for organizing the competition and encourage him to do more in future.
