Bamboutos FC of Mbouda once more failed to win on match day 24 of the Cameroon professional League, this time, a resolute Apejes football club doing the damage.
The draw for coach Laurent Djam and his boys meant the ‘Mangwa Boys’ have now gone four games without a win, registering a parity in all the games.
Alain Roland Nandjou from his new found love center forward position raised the curtains for Bamboutos with his 18th minute goal only for Joseph Vianney to haunt the west giants with a well deserved equaliser at the 66th minute for Apejes.
The draw against Apejes seemed like two points dropped than a point won.
Despite four of their key players on national duty, Bamboutos still has one of the strongest rosters with a great squad depth that was expected to do well until the arrival of the quartet: Ndi, Lobe, Hansi and O’Ojong.
With Cotonsport of Garoua on some sickening run of form and Colombe being pecked back against title defender’s UMS, Bamboutos failed to capitalise and move within touching distance of the first three.
Book makers have hinted that there is no course for alarm on behalf of the 2018 League 1 runners-up but being 4, with 36 points, 6 points behind first place Colombe was not part of the plan when the season began.
