Indomitable Lions of Cameroon midfielder Ayuk Eric Mbu scored the lone goal in Akaraspor’s 2-1 defeat to Bandirmarspor on Saturday in the Turkish second tier championship.
The fleet-footed equalized for visiting Akaraspor barely five minutes to the break after Benin’s Michael Pote had scored the opener for the host nine minutes into the game.
Unfortunately, Mbu’s goal wasn’t enough to back home even a point as Rayo scored the winner for Bandirmarspor in the 79th minute to hand all three points on offer to the host.
The match-day 14 defeat leaves Akaraspor on the 17th spot in the 18-clubs championship ahead of their match-day 15 encounter at home to third-placed Samsunspor.
Mbu’s goal was the first in six games this season for the 23-year-old native of Mamfe-Cameroon.
