Taiwo Awoniyi scored his fifth German Bundesliga goal of the season for FC Union Berlin in the course of their 0-2 away win against Werder Bremen on Saturday.

Awoniyi, 23, scored FC Union Berlin’s second goal of the game in the 28th minute. He pounced on a loose ball inside the box and beats Bremen’s goalkeeper with a shot into the bottom left corner.

Sheraldo Becker scored the opening goal for the visitors in the 12th minute. He collected a pass and without hesitation fired an unstoppable shot into the bottom right corner.

Awoniyi in the 17th minute strikes from the edge of the box but hits his effort poorly sending the ball way over the bar. He was caught offside in the 60th minute.

Ten minutes later, Taiwo pounced on a great cross inside the box but lashed his powerful first time shot inches over the bar.

In the 83rd minute, Taiwo Awoniyi was replaced by Julian Ryerson.

The Urs Fisher side (FC Union Berlin), moved to the fourth position on the German Bundesliga table with 24 points in 14 games.

They will host Wolfsburg in their next game on January 9, 2021.
