Spain and European giants Real Madrid have reignited their interest in signing potential Indomitable Lions of Cameroon and current French youth international midfielder Aurélien Tchouameni from AS Monaco.
The 19-year-old signed for Monaco in January 2020, amidst interest from Real Madrid.
Real were heavily linked with a move for Rennes’ Eduardo Camavinga but they looked to have pulled the plug from the move and have now turned their interest on Tchouameni, according to reports from Diario Sport.
Real are looking to inject some youth into their midfield compartment, with Kroos and Modric steadily dragging close to a departure from the Bernabeu as they get older.
Zidane’s interest in Tchouameni can also be attributed to the financial gains Los Blancos stand to make should they settle on Tchouameni who is by far a cheaper option though he might not have the pedigree of Camavinga.
Monaco signed Tchouameni from Bordeaux in January for £16million, and could move him on in the summer for £13million, while Camavinga would have cost Real about £53million.
Tchouameni came through the ranks of Bordeaux and progressed into their first team in 2018.
