Inter of Milan will have to successfully challenge some of Europe’s heavy weights and top spenders to secure the services of 30-year-old Gabon international forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for next season.
According to reports from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, the Nerrazzuri have identified the Arsenal captain as a potential replacement for their highly solicited Argentine forward Latauro Martinez.
Inter are not the only European top dogs to have the Gabonese on their wishlist. They will have to compete with the likes of FC Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester United and PSG for the forward’s signature.
Aubameyang’s contract with Arsenal expires in June 2021, and according to reports, the Gabonese has turned down the possibility of a contract extension with the Gunners.
Arsenal are therefore forced to sell him this summer or lose him at the end of next season for free.
Aubameyang has scored 20 goals and provided an assist in 31 appearances across all competitions for the north London outfit this season.
