26-year-old Ghanaian international midfielder Thomas Partey is reported to be in favour of a move to English Premier League side Arsenal amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool and Bayern Munich.
Partey is likely to leave the Wanda Metropolitano despite Atletico’s desire to keep the Ghanaian midfielder.
According to reports from Ghanasoccernet.com, Partey’s preferred destination is the English top flight and north London precisely to join the Gunners.
He will like to follow in the footsteps of another illustrious Ghanaian footballer, Michael Essien, who won two Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League amongst other honours while playing for Chelsea.
Partey has been a mainstay in Diego Simeone’s team this season, starting all of their Champions League games and featuring in 24 of their 27 LaLiga games.
The native of Krobo Udumase currently has a £45million buy-out clause on his current contract with Atletico which might prove to be an obstacle to a potential move to Arsenal as the Gunners might not be ready to splash out such a huge amount for him.
He has however been advised to jump on the chance for a move to England by his Ghanaian national team teammate Kasim Nuhu.
Liverpool and Manchester United are reported to also be keen on the Ghanaian with Liverpool reported to be considering a swap deal with English international Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to attract Partey to Anfield.
