Cameroon cup defending Champions PWD Social Football Club of Bamenda, will begin their title defense this coming weekend and in front of them is East Regional side As Real of Bertoua.
Created in April 2021 by Victor Nka Mandong, the club has quickly grown into a heavyweight in the East Regional league, where they’re participating in just their first campaign.
Coach Atoubamout Ambroise has build an ambitious team in just one year, with a blend of experience and Youthful exuberance.
AS Real currently tops Pool B of the East Regional league with 26 points from 11 games. The team has won eight games, drawn two and have suffered just one defeat. The team is fresh from a one all draw against CPS of Bertoua.
Their road to the Cameroon cup 32nd final
Ruthless AS Real thrashed Ntoungou FC 11#1 in the first preliminary round game, but needed penalties to outsmart Lomie. A hard earned 3#2 win over Abong Mbang FC in the third round, set up a decider against Chamba FC, a game which AS Real won 4#0 to sail through to the 32nd final and setting up a meeting against the defending Champions.

Secret behind Real’s success
The club’s hierarchy has brought today a group of players with experience and exciting talents. Former Panthère Sportive of Nde’s goalie Meyangue, who also had a stint at Senegalese club AS Jaraaf, is the main shot stopper for the club, and has reportedly attracted interest from a series of Elite one clubs.
Striker Junior mbappe Meke, has been the main man for the club, scoring 17 League goals and four others in the Cameroon cup preliminaries to take his season’s tally to 21.
Captain Armel Bimbalan, former Captain of elite two side Stade FC of Bertoua, has also brought in lots of experience to the team.
According to sources from the club, their objective is make history in their first ever Cameroon cup 32nd game against PWD Social Football Club of Bamenda.
