24-year-old year center back Arsene Carmel Mbe Dounglui is having a season to remember in the backline of Cameroon Elite One championship side Fovu of Baham.
The former Panthere of Nde defender was key in his side’s three nil victory over Colombe of Dja and Lobo on Sunday in Bafoussam.
In his 21st appearance of the season, Mbe was in full control of the Fovu defense line stop a combination of Man Ykre and Francis Elimbi with 15 goals to their credit this season.
He dominated in most of his duels and made some top class defensive clearances notably against Francis Elimbi.
After the game kick442.com met the defender for his views, hear him;
“We won against the leaders, it is very important to do so. We have always played well but sometimes we haven’t had the results. We will continue to work and see where our efforts takes us”: Arsene Mbe stated.
Fovu has conceded 23 goals this season making their backline one of the best in the championship largely thanks to the defensive know-how of their player in shirt number 14 and his mates.
Since his switch to Fovu club two seasons ago, he has succeeded to cement his place in the hearts of club faithfuls through his solid displays at the back.
Should the defender keep his performance as it has been so far his club will stand a chance of troubling every opponent.
