French Ligue 2 outfit Valenciennes have wasted no time to sign 25-year-old Cameroon midfielder Arsène Elogo Guintangui, barely hours after he was released by Grenoble, kick442.com can report.
The midfielder signed a-two-year contract for VAFC, which will see him tied to the club till June 2022.
Elogo will join his former Grenoble teammate Eric Vandebeele who was one of three players released by Grenoble, considered a surplus to requirements by coach Philippe Hinschberger.
Valenciennes coach Eric Guégan will be counting on the experience of Arsène Elogo who played 130 league games for Grenoble, scoring 14 goals since joining them in 2015 from Saint-Etienne.
In the just-ended season, due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, Elogo featured in 22 league games, scoring two goals.
He came through the ranks of Grenoble and Saint-Etienne but is yet to test top flight football.
Valenciennes who finished 7th on the French Ligue 2 table last season will be looking to push for a return to the top flight, and why not finally offer Arsène Elogo a chance to play in the French first tier.
