Premier League giants Arsenal are at the verge of landing Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid.
Mikel Arteta has identified the Ghanaian international as the perfect profile he wants in his midfield for the upcoming season.
The Gunners are willing to cough out the £44 million said to be the amount Atletico will accept to let go the native of Krobo Odumase in Ghana, according to reports from Corriere dello Sport.
Corriere dello Sports reports that Partey is edging ever closer to a switch to North London from the Spanish capital.
Diego Simeone’s Atletico will struggle to hold on to some of their key players, with Barcelona also keeping tabs on Saul Niguez. They will not readily accept to lose both midfielders, so they will be looking to hold on to one of the two players [Saul and Partey].
Thomas Teye Partey has been a mainstay in Atletico’s team this season, with 34 games across all competitions.
