Cotonsport of Garoua have continued their climb up the table in the ongoing Cameroon Elite One championship.
The boys of coach Souleymanou Aboubakar displayed their quality by outclassing APEJES of Mfou by two goals to nil in a delayed match-day one fixture this Sunday at the Roumde Adja Annex Stadium in Garoua.
A second half brace from Burkina Faso’s Arnaud Sanou Sibiri was all it took for the 15 times Champions of Cameroon to return to winning ways after the disappointing draw last Wednesday against Colombe of Dja.
The slightly changed Cotonsport side failed to get going in the opening 45 minutes of the game though they had their chances against a good APEJES side.
Anye Derick in his second start on goal for Cotonsport made a number of brilliant stops to deny the visiting side.
The game ended on a 2-0 score thus handing Cotonsport a fifth win in seven as they continue to display signs of wanting to end their two years trophy drought going into May 16 CAF Confederation cup quarter-final game against AS Jaraaf of Senegal.
The Cotonites will however face UMS of Loum on Wednesday in another delayed league game at the same venue.
