15 times champions of Cameroon Cotonsport of Garoua have taken a giant step towards qualification for the second preliminary round of the 2020-2021 CAF Confederation cup.
Two goals from youth teams graduate Marou Souaibou and Guime Ariana handed a two-nil win to the Club in Sunday’s first-leg game against Unisport of Sokode at the Stade de Kegue in Lome
It could have been more but the unlucky visitors who hit the upright and cross-bar on not less than three occasions and had a debatable goal ruled out.
Marou Souaibou put the visitors ahead in the 34th minute, crowning his side’s efforts and multiple attempts to get a goal.
The Cotonites protected that lead till the break with the better side leading.
Nine minutes after the interval Lambert Guime Araina ended a well-worked action with a goal of his own.
The goal was the last of the all attacking game.
Cotonsport returns home on Wednesday ahead of Sunday’s return fixture against Unisport of Sokode in Garoua.
