Record keeping Anye Derick Fru has hinted high on Cotonsport’s’ game against Union de Movement de Loum counting for Matchday day 16 of Cameroon’s Elite One Championship, scheduled for this Tuesday May 24, 2022 at the Fotso Victor Stadium in Bandjoun.
The 16 times champions of Cameroon ranked second in pool B three points behind group leaders Eding Sport of Lekie. They are going in for the fifth consecutive victory of the season after enjoying their early days in the championship at the bottom. A win for them will equal their points with Eding and increase their chances of topping the league should Eding lost against YAFOOT FC.
Facing UMS of Loum is a do or die game for Cotonsport as they continue their race to the top. Though seeming to be a tough game Anye Derick on state media says it will be enjoyable
“We know we are going for a very tough encounter defending our season because if we win the game we will move forward to the first position. Obviously when two great teams meet like this with mentality of winning, it is always enjoyable. We are ready to fight and give in our best to get the best result.”
For this season and haven featured in between the sticks for coach Gabriel Hamann’s side, Anye has recorded major saves against PWD, Dragon, Bamboutos FC, YAFOOT, Ofta, kept his sticks safe stopping all attempts. Anye Derick now becomes the only goalkeeper to keep seven clean sheets in Cameroon top flight championship in two consecutive seasons so far.
