Guinea-Bissau born 16-year-old FC Barcelona forward Ansu Fati has officially made his international debut for Spain, after featuring for their U-21s against Montenegro.

Introduced at the 80th minute in Spain’s 0-2 win against Montenegro in Group F of the U-21 Euro qualifiers, the forward reacted on his Instagram page.

“I am very happy to have made my debut in an official match with Spain’s U-21s and for the victory. I will continue to work hard so that I can get other opportunities.”

It will not be a big surprise to see Ansu Fati in a few months ahead playing the Euro 2020 with Spain, even if his youthfulness could be his undoing.

Current Spanish national team head coach Robert Moreno is a huge admirer of the young forward and has not made it a secret.

Fati opted to represent Spain, though he had to chance to represent his native Guinea-Bissau or Portugal.
