Spanish national team coach Robert Moreno has hinted that 16-year-old Guinea-Bissau born Ansu Fati could be part of the La Roja for the Euro 2020.

The 16-year-old forward endeared himself into Barcelona folklore by becoming their youngest ever goal scorer after scoring against Osassuna this season.

Fati who also had the chance to play for Portugal at international level opted to represent Spain and was given all the clearances to play for them this week by FIFA.

He was called up into their U-21 team to replace his injured Barca teammate Carles Perez ahead of their game against Montenegro.

Spain are almost sure to qualify for Euro 2020, with the final of the tournament scheduled to take place at Athletic Bilbao’s Cathedral de San Mames.

They are currently top of Group F with six wins out of six games.

Their coach Robert Moreno who replaced Luis Enrique, is already planning for the tournament and he has indicated that Ansu Fati is one of the players he is seriously considering for a place in his team for the tournament.

“Of course I will like Ansu to be here,” Moreno said ahead of Spain’s game against Norway. “We had him in the pre-list.

“He has broken the system of the age groups. We believe it is important to have players who have a goal.

“If he starts scoring goals and breaking out we will not give up having such a player with us.

“All good guys are welcome. Ansu has shown great things.

“Of course it will be feasible for him to be in the Euros.”

Moreno’s current contract expires at the end of Euro 2020. It should be recalled that he took over from Luis Enrique who had to step down to look after his sick 9-year-old daughter who unfortunately passed away.
