Cameroon is the center of attention when it comes to hosting competitions these days, and the fans would celebrate for every other tournament given the nation. This is the reason why the awarding of UNIFFAC U17 tournament has given hope and assured football lovers that better days are ahead for a country that has more than 6 international tournaments to host from 2019 to 2021.

After the meeting of the Central African Football Federations’ Union with the French acronym – UNIFFAC in Douala, Cameroon on Tuesday July 30th 2019, it was decided that the U17 tournament from the 12th to the 22nd of December would be hosted by Cameroon.
Other resolutions taken
– The executive committee also reiterated that the next General Assembly would be held in Libreville, Gabon on the 31st of August 2019.
– The Women’s tournament would be held in Equatorial Guinea from September 16th to the 25th.
-The U20 tournament would take place in the second half of the month of November 2019 in the Central African Republic.
-The financial state, Presented by the SG would be taken and improved upon. An audit would be done subsequently.
– A call of candidates for the post of the Executive Director would be launched in the coming days.
The UNIFFAC U17 tournament is a tourney played between teams in the Central African zone like ; Chad, Gabon, Cameroon, CAR and the DRC admits others. It was created some 11 years back (2008) and the maiden edition was hosted by eventual winners Cameroon, beating Congo DRC 2-1 in Limbe. The Junior Lions have always been overwhelming favorites getting into the tourney.
