One of Cameroon’s most finest and well informed sports journalist and writer Angu Lesley Akonwi has been voted best Sports Journalist in Cameroon. Angu was awarded the prize during the VICTORIA INTERNATIONAL MEDIA MERIT VIMMA AWARD 2021, that took place at Limbe Council hall Friday December 10, 2021.
The prolific writer who doubles as CEO of one Africa’s reliable sports online portal kick442.com, took to his social media handle to express gratitude to all those who voted for him and dedicates the award especially to the kick442.com family.

The former communication officer for linemark global has a mastery of local football and Cameroonian players which has given him the name Dr Stats.
He served as the communication officer for the just ended South West Mini Interpool, served as CAF media officer during the draw of the 2021 African cup of Nations.
His works in the domain of sports draw to the attention of the Confederation of African Football CAF who has included him as the lone Cameroonian in the media team for the African Cup of Nations 2021 to be staged in Cameroon early next year.
Angu Lesley is currently serving as Team Press Officer for the U17 Lions of Cameroon amongst others.
The VIMMA Awards is an annual event organized by the Cameroon Association of Media Professionals to celebrate excellence in the city of Limbe, former Victoria and beyond.
The event was in it fourth edition this year and dished out 40 awards this year, ten of awards were handed to meritorious Journalists.
The event bankrolled by Orange Cameroon and the Limbe City council also recognized Africa’s leading multinational United Bank for Africa as the best financial institution in charge of promoting growth of the Cameroon business environment.
Louvier Kindo Tombe of News Upfront as the Best Blogger while Veronica Aji of Radio was branded best Radio Host. Mua Patrick Mughe of the Guardian Post Newspaper went home with Ela Geofred while Dean Mongo Eyieh of the Ocean City Radio scooped the Victoria Sports Journalist of the year Award for his exploits in his radio program amongst others.
