Reports emerging from France have it that English Premier League giants Chelsea FC of London have made a first move towards the acquisition of 24-year-old Cameroonian goalkeeper Andre Onana Onana of Ajax Amsterdam.
Chelsea FC have impressed under Manager Frank Lampard in his maiden season in charge of the West London outfit.
However, the Blues have struggled in the goalkeeping compartment, with first choice goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga failing to live up to expectations.
His replacement, Argentine veteran, Willy Caballero has had high and low moments, which explains why runout have increased that the Blues boss is looking to bring in another goalkeeper.
Lampard’s intentions maybe to look for a suitable backup for Arrizabalaga or outrightly replace him and relegate him to the bench.
Andre Onana has constantly been linked with a move to London to at least give Kepa some real competition if the club keeps him.
According to reports from L’Equipe and cited by Get French Football News, the Premier League giants have already made preliminary talks with Ajax for a potential move in the summer for the Cameroonian
The Blues will have to beat competition from Barcelona and PSG to sign the 24-year-old Cameroon shot-stopper who has been the undisputed first choice at Ajax in the last three seasons.
