The National Football Academy on Thursday 28 April, 2022, at the Yaounde Multipurpose Sports Complex organized a one day Conference under the theme; “The contribution of ANAFOOT in the development of local football.” The event brought together football technicians, Promoters and stakeholders.
To officially launched the football reflection talks were the Secretary General of the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education Yerima Joseph, Hamad Kalkaba Malboum , President of the Cameroon National Olympic and Sports Committee and the Director of ANAFOOT Carl Enow Ngatchou .
The event was marked by the holding of a workshop centered around three major themes notably:
– The Technical Development of Football
– The management of local competitions
– Football related professions.
ANAFOOT is a public establishment specialized in the domain of football, created by decree N°2014/363 of 25 September 2014 by the President of the Republic. Since it’s creation and upon it’s actual kick-off in August 2017, the Minister of Sports and physical Education assuring the technical titulage and the Board Chairman of the Board of Director’s Meeting of ANAFOOT did not relent their efforts in enabling the smooth running of the structure.
The objective of the Academy is thus ; the quantitative training of footballers to the practice of high level football and actors specialized in football related professions.
Existing for over five years, the Institution has graduated not less than 800 conscripts. With about 1450 of her products playing with the under -17, 16,15,14 and 12.
Also, 45 of her players are now plying their trade in both the male and female Professional football League’s of the country, with one of the youngest playing for Apejes FC of Mfou.
At the end of the Conference, the 150 members present came out with some key resolutions aimed at seeking a durable solution to the results crisis plaguing the national selections and some local clubs, presenting a diagnostic of the technical development of our local football,identifying and structuring football related professions.
