The Nigeria Amputee team opened their Africa Amputee football Nations Cup title campaign with 1-0 pipping of Liberia.

A Kelvin Kingsley’s goal was all that the special Eagles needed to triumph over their Liberian opponent at the on going Amputee Football Nation Cup taking place in Angola.

The amputee team ground out a great result after the turbulent period to get to Angola for the tournament.

The match was played at the early hours of day as the likes of Goodluck Obieze and his team mates filed out to get the win.

The team had prepared amidst tough conditions and could not get the desired support at the second edition of the Nigeria Amputee football championship at the National Stadium, Surulere where the final selection of players was made.

The Amputee Football Nation Cup will take place in Angola from the 30th of September to 14th November.

The special eagles play Cameroon tomorrow in their next game.
