The Nigeria Amputee football team at this year’s Amputee African Cup of Nations (AFCON), Special Eagles finished the tournament on a losing note after the final match defeat to host and world champions, Angola.

Nigeria finished second in
Africa Amputee Football Nations Cup after losing 0-2 to hosts and world champions, Angola in the final.
This tournament will be the first time that Nigeria will be participating in after nine (9) years of absence. They also traveled to Angola on credit rendered by a travel agent.
This defeat is Nigeria’s first loss in the tournament.

Angola on the other hand are World Champions after winning the 2018 Amputee Football world cup in Mexico. Angola have now added the African Amputee Football Cup of Nations trophy to their cabinet after emerging as World Champions last year.

Liberia has won the coveted cup on three occasions. They won it in Liberia (2009), Ghana (2011) and Kenya (2013).
Ghana won the maiden edition in Sierra Leone in 2007.
