Cameroon and Bloemfotein Celtic’s save hands, Amour Patrick Tignyemb is leading his goalkeeping colleagues in the race for the goalkeeper with the most clean sheets in the PSL. So far in this season’s south African Premier Soccer League (PSL) he has been simply outstanding playing over 50% of his games without conceding.
The 33 year old goalkeeper joined Bloemfotein Celtic 11 year ago and has been an exceptional servant of the club since then.
The current campaign has started on a similar note for Tignyemb and his defensive mates at Bloem. Tignyemb is currently ranked joined top with Dareen Keets of Wits University amongst goalkeepers with most clean sheets in the PSL. He has recorded 8 clean sheets after playing 16 of his clubs 18 league matches.
With 8 clean sheets in 16 League games,The former TKC and Cotonsport of Garoua shot stopper has a better output in the PSL than great keepers like current African goalkeeper of the year,Denis Oyango of Mamelodi Sundowns,Siyabonga Mbatha of Amazulu and even South African international,Itumeleng Khune of Kaizer Chiefs.
Bloem is currently ranked 8th after 18 games in the ongoing PSL but it could have been different for the club without Tigyemb’s goalkeeping heroics.
Tignyemb failed to establish the same record for himself with the senior National team of Cameroon understandably because he comes from the same country like Fabrice Ondoa,Andre Onana,Idriss Carlos Kameni,Souleymanou Hamidou and many more.
